This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.
.DAY ONE...TONIGHT...
While fuels are not conducive for explosive fire growth, dry and
breezy southwest winds could make fires grow out of control.
An isolated thunderstorm or two will be possible this afternoon and
early evening in the Colorado and Kansas border area south of
Interstate 70. If a storm manages to form, localized wind gusts of
up to 55 mph and small hail will be possible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...
On Sunday, afternoon and evening storms will be more numerous, with
best chances in northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska, where
damaging winds and large hail may accompany stronger storms. Blowing
dust and dust storms are also possible along thunderstorm outflows.
While fuels are not conducive for explosive fire growth, dry and
breezy southwest winds could make fires grow out of control Sunday
afternoon.
Monday will see another chance for severe storms as a cold front
enters the area. However, there is much uncertainty on where the
front will end up in the afternoon. If the front is still in the
area, then storms that develop along it will be capable of large
hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall. Confidence is low at this
time on severe potential.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation may be required.
