This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Critical fire weather conditions will continue today across the San
Luis Valley, with gusty west-southwest winds and low relative
humidity. Please avoid any activities that could start a fire.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon
and evening, initially just across the mountains before activity
moves east onto the plains through this evening. Main impact
concerns from these showers and storms would be lightning and wind
gusts to around 40 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

There is a good chance of showers and thunderstorms across the
eastern plains Friday afternoon and evening, with a growing
potential for strong to severe storms near the Kansas border.

Critical fire weather conditions are expected across the San Luis
Valley Friday from 11 AM until 8 PM due to low humidity values
and gusty afternoon winds. High fire danger will likely return to
the area starting Monday.

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to
be possible across the higher terrain and immediate adjacent
plains on Saturday, then will be more restricted to the
Continental Divide starting Sunday.

Weather spotters will not be needed today or tonight.
