This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


Some morning severe thunderstorms will remain possible until about
sunrise east and northeast sections...then expect mainly dry
conditions into the afternoon hours.

More thunderstorms will develop late this afternoon and mainly
this evening into the overnight hours as a cold front drops
southeast through the state. Severe thunderstorms look likely
with this activity...with all hazards expected. Very large hail
larger than golf balls and 70 mph wind gusts will be the primary
threats...but a few tornadoes will also be possible. Some locally
heavy rainfall may lead to an isolated flash flood threat as
well.

Expect the threat for severe weather to decrease late tonight and
near sunrise Thursday as the activity drops southeast of the
area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday


Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will linger on Thursday
across the southern half Arkansas before cooler, drier, and more
seasonal air returns Friday into the weekend.

Spotter activation will may be needed late this afternoon into the
overnight hours.

...The National Weather Service in Tulsa OK has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Arkansas...

Arkansas River at Ozark Lock and Dam affecting Logan, Johnson and
Franklin Counties.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO TOMORROW MORNING...


* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Arkansas River at Ozark Lock and Dam.

* WHEN...From this evening to tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 357.0 feet, flooding affects agricultural use lands
along the river downstream of the lock and dam in Franklin County.
Gas fields are also subject to flooding downstream. Equipment and
livestock should be moved to higher ground. North 5th Street in
Logan County near the Six Mile Levee begins to flood and may cut
off access to a nearby residence.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 356.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 357.0
feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage just
after midnight tonight.
- Flood stage is 357.0 feet.
