Mississippi River Above Tiptonville

Mississippi River at Osceola

Mississippi River at Caruthersville

For the Lower Mississippi River...including Tiptonville,
Caruthersville, Osceola, Memphis, Tunica Mhoon Landing, Helena...
elevated river levels are forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an
alternative route.

If you are in the advisory area, remain alert to possible flooding
or the possibility of the advisory being upgraded to a warning.

...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MONDAY, MAY 20...


* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Caruthersville.

* WHEN...Until Monday, May 20.

* IMPACTS...At 32.0 feet, In Arkansas, docks of the steel mill near
Hickman are flooding. In Tennessee, Mississippi River overbank
flooding is occurring across Highway 88 just north of Dee Webb
Road. Extensive amounts of Chickasaw National Wildlife Refuge are
flooded. Sloughs at the west end of Barr Road are beginning to
back up into fields.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 29.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 32.0
feet Wednesday morning. It will then fall below flood stage
early Thursday morning.
- Action stage is 29.0 feet.
- Flood stage is 32.0 feet.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Osceola.

* WHEN...Until Monday, May 20.

* IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, In Tennessee, the settlement south of Cold
Creek Road down from Crawford Road is flooding. Crawford Road West
is flooding. The Reach-Coker Slough hunting camp is flooding along
Nix Road. Grammer Road is flooded at Jones Slough. Much of the
Lauderdale south bottom is underwater. Homesteads and camps on
Cash Road are cut-off. Sections of Crane Road are cut-off on
Island 35. In Arkansas, Mississippi County Road 903 north of
O`Donnell Bend is flooded in places.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.0
feet Wednesday morning. It will then fall below flood stage
Wednesday evening.
- Action stage is 24.0 feet.
- Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
