This hazardous weather outlook is for eastern Utah and western
Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


A cold front will move through northern portions of the forecast
area today bringing some light showers, maybe a few storms, along
the CO/WY border and the Continental Divide. Some gusty winds of
30 to 40 mph will also be common this afternoon for much of the
area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday


A pair of disturbances will move through Saturday and Sunday
bringing some chances for a bit more widespread showers and
storms. Might see a few flakes at the higher elevations as well. A
warmup kicks in on Monday and continues through the rest of the
week.

...AIR QUALITY HEALTH ADVISORY FOR WILDFIRE SMOKE FROM 600 PM

WEDNESDAY UNTIL 900 AM THURSDAY...

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has
issued the following...

WHAT...Air Quality Health Advisory for Wildfire Smoke.


WHERE...Ouray, eastern San Miguel, eastern Dolores, and north-
central Montezuma Counties. Locations include, but are not limited
to Ouray, Telluride, Rico, and Dolores.

WHEN...600 PM Wednesday May 22 to 900 AM Thursday May 23

IMPACTS...The Spruce Creek Wildfire is burning in the San Juan
National Forest, approximately 11 miles northeast of Dolores,
Colorado. Areas of smoke will continue to settle throughout the
advisory area, especially sheltered mountain valleys. Moderate to
heavy smoke will be possible through the early morning hours.

HEALTH INFORMATION...Public Health Recommendations: If smoke is
thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood you may want to remain
indoors. This is especially true for those with heart disease,
respiratory illnesses, the very young, and the elderly. Consider
limiting outdoor activity when moderate to heavy smoke is present.
Consider relocating temporarily if smoke is present indoors and is
making you ill. If visibility is less than 5 miles in smoke in
your neighborhood, smoke has reached levels that are unhealthy.
