* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 478 Salt Lake Desert...Fire
Weather Zone 492 Central Utah West Desert and Fire Weather
Zone 495 Color Country West Desert.

* WINDS...South with gusts 45 to 55 mph switching to the northwest
and remaining strong during the evening. Winds will gradually
decrease after midnight.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 9-15 percent this afternoon,
rising tonight behind the frontal passage.

* IMPACTS...Warm, dry and windy conditions will combine to
support rapid spread of fires.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or are imminent. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM MDT TUESDAY...


* AFFECTED AREA...The Cache Valley, Wasatch Front and Back,
Sanpete and Sevier Valleys, and Utah`s Dixie.

* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* TIMING...From mid-morning today through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will create hazardous travel conditions,
especially for high profile and light weight vehicles. Scattered
power outages and down tree limbs are a possibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least
31 mph or gusts of 45 mph are expected. Motorists in the advisory
area should be prepared for sudden gusty cross winds which can
make driving difficult.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the western two thirds of
Utah and southwest Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


Strong and gusty southwest winds will develop later this morning
and into the evening hours across much of western Utah ahead of a
strong cold front, with gusts 40-55 mph likely. The cold front
will push into northwest Utah this evening, with winds shifting to
west or northwest behind it. Localized gusts over 55 mph will be
possible with the cold front, especially near Wendover and far
northwest Utah this evening.

Widespread critical fire weather conditions are expected today
into tonight due to strong winds and low humidities, along with
the threat of lightning.

There is a marginal threat for severe thunderstorms producing
damaging wind gusts across portions of northern Utah this
afternoon and overnight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday


There is a potential for critical fire weather conditions Tuesday
across southeast Utah due to gusty winds and low humidities.
Critical fire weather conditions could become more widespread on
Wednesday as winds increase across the area once again ahead of
another storm system.
