...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM CDT

FOR CENTRAL ELLIS AND CENTRAL NAVARRO COUNTIES...

At 402 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms was located from
near Rosser to Blooming Grove, moving northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...65 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
central Ellis and central Navarro Counties, including the following
locations... Oak Valley, Dresden, Avalon, Corbet, Mildred, Howard,
Retreat, Navarro Mills, Rice, and Purdon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 PM CDT for central and
north central Texas.

Heavy rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash
flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Hill County in central Texas...
Ellis County in north central Texas...
Northwestern Navarro County in north central Texas...

* Until 630 PM CDT.

* At 317 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
have already fallen, and additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3
inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Waxahachie, Corsicana, Ennis, Hillsboro, Whitney, Palmer, Italy,
Itasca, Maypearl, Blooming Grove, Bardwell, Alma, Covington,
Barry, Bynum, Carl`s Corner, Bardwell Lake, Aquilla Lake, Lake
Whitney State Park and Lake Whitney.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Low water crossings are likely to contain high water which will be
impassable. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate
route.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for North and Central Texas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Thunderstorms will continue to develop through the afternoon and
evening hours mainly along and south of the I-20 corridor. Large
hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes will all be possible with
these storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

The severe threat will increase once again late Saturday afternoon
through Sunday morning across North Texas as another round of
thunderstorms is expected. Large hail, damaging winds, and a few
tornadoes will be possible. In addition, locally heavy rainfall may
cause flash flooding across parts of North Texas.

Occasional storm chances will continue through Thursday, a few of
which could be strong to severe.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Timely reports of severe weather and flooding will be appreciated
through the weekend.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Texas, including
the following counties, in north central Texas, Bosque, Collin,
Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hill, Hood, Hunt,
Johnson, Kaufman, McLennan, Montague, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall,
Somervell, Tarrant and Wise. In northeast Texas, Delta, Henderson,
Hopkins, Lamar, Rains and Van Zandt.

* WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rainfall totals of 1.5 to 3 inches, with isolated higher
amounts of 3 to 5 inches.
