This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


Thunderstorms, some with heavy rain, will linger into the morning
across south central and southeast Kansas. Heavy rain overnight has
resulted in several flood and flash flood warnings, which remain in
effect.

The Cow Creek near Hutchinson is forecast to remain in flood until
this evening and the Smoky Hill River near Lindsborg will remain
near flood. Please refer to the latest river and flood statements
for details.

There is a chance of scattered thunderstorms over south central and
southeast Kansas this afternoon and especially tonight. Isolated
strong to severe downburst wind gusts and locally heavy rainfall
will be the main threats, with the greater risk near the Oklahoma
border in southeast Kansas. Thunderstorms will be more likely after
dark.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday


Periodic chances for thunderstorms are in the forecast from Monday
through Friday. Some of these storms will be strong to marginally
severe with locally heavy rainfall. During this period, there is an
increased chance for severe storms Tuesday night area wide.

The Cow Creek near Hutchinson and the Smoky Hill River near
Lindsborg will remain near flood through Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Sedgwick County in south central Kansas...
Kingman County in south central Kansas...

* Until 1000 PM CDT Sunday..

* At 1006 AM CDT, local law enforcement officials reported flooding
at several intersections in Wichita, and in Haysville as a result
of thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall rates last night.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wichita, Derby, Andover, Haysville, Park City, Valley Center, Bel
Aire, Mulvane, Goddard, Rose Hill, Maize, Kingman, Clearwater,
Cheney, Sedgwick, Colwich, Garden Plain, Mount Hope, Downtown
Wichita and Kechi.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 0 and 22.
Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 34 and 54.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

for the following river in Kansas...

Ninnescah South Fork near Murdock affecting Kingman County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades, especially at
night! Only two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn
around. Don`t drown.

* Flood Warning for
The Ninnescah South Fork near Murdock.

* From this afternoon until late tonight.
* At 8:00 AM Sunday the stage was 7.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to flood stage this
afternoon.
* Impact...At 8.0 feet...Minor flooding occurs along the right
upstream bank affecting pastureland and along left downstream bank.
