This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


Showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds and locally heavy rain
will linger into the morning hours before diminishing.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday


Scattered thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon and
evening hours on Tuesday. Large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain
will be the primary threats, although a few tornadoes may also
develop.

Thunderstorms may linger over southeast Kansas through Wednesday
with a continued threat of strong thunderstorms and heavy rain.
After a brief break, thunderstorms may return to the area over the
weekend, with a renewed threat of strong to severe storms and heavy
rain.

River flooding will continue to be a concern well into the upcoming
week. Please continue to monitor River Flood Warnings and
Statements for the latest information.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around don`t drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Smoky Hill River At Ellsworth.
* Until Wednesday evening.
* At 7:30 PM Sunday the stage was 15.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late Monday evening and
continue to rise to near 21.8 feet by Tuesday evening. The river
will fall below flood stage by late Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 21.0 feet...About 100 feet south of the Highway 14
bridge the road becomes flooded.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...


The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Central and South Central Kansas.

* Through Monday morning.

* Thunderstorms are expected to move through the area again late
this afternoon through tonight, with another round of heavy rain
and possible flash flooding.

* Rapidly rising water can wash cars away and quickly flood
homes. In addition to the flash flood threat, rivers and
creeks will quickly rise, exacerbating the ongoing flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions would likely develop
that would cause flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY
DANGEROUS SITUATION. Remember to turn around, don`t drown,
ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. All forecasts should be monitored closely!
Be prepared to take immediate action should Flash Flood Warnings
be issued. Those living along or near creeks and streams are
especially at risk.
