This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Kansas,
south central Kansas, southwest Kansas, and west central Kansas.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Southwesterly winds will increase shortly after sunrise this morning,
becoming sustained in the 25-35 mph range with gusts to 45+ mph by
late morning. These winds will also allow temperatures to warm well
into the 80s for much of the area, and combine with dry air to
support minimum relative humidity in the 10-15% range. However, the
lowest relative humidity will coincide with the weakest winds, so no
fire weather headlines are in effect.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday
On Tuesday, a cold front will pass through southwest KS early in the
morning, with strong north to northeast winds in its wake. Minimum
relative humidity is currently expected to stay above headline
criteria, although it will be in the 18-22% range.
Severe thunderstorms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening
along and east of a dryline that is currently expected to be near
US-83. Primary hazards will be large hail and damaging wind gusts.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be needed.
