This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern and
central Missouri as well as west central and southwest Illinois.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.


Thunderstorms are likely tonight across parts of the area...mainly
across central and northeast Missouri and west central Illinois.

Major river flooding is ongoing along portions of the Illinois
River.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.


Major river flooding will continue along portions of the Illinois
River, and is forecast to reach near major at Saverton on the
Mississippi River.

Severe thunderstorms are expected late Tuesday afternoon and
evening. Damaging winds and tornadoes are the primary threat.

The chance for thunderstorms will continue through Sunday across
parts of our area.

Mississippi River at LaGrange

Mississippi River at Quincy

Mississippi River at Lock & Dam 21

Mississippi River at Hannibal

Mississippi River at Saverton

Mississippi River at Louisiana

Mississippi River at Clarksville

Mississippi River at Winfield

Mississippi River at Grafton

Mississippi River at Mel Price LD

Mississippi River at St. Louis

Mississippi River at Chester

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions or forecasts change.

Safety message: Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles
through flooded areas. The water may be too deep to allow for safe
passage.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Mel Price LD
* until further notice.
* At 11:00 AM Monday the stage was 28.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 31.2 feet by Sunday morning.
* Impact: At 31.5 feet...Commercial basements in Alton begin to flood
within a foot of this height.
* Impact: At 30.5 feet...Bloch Marine Service at the Harbor Point
Yacht Club begins flooding within a foot of this level.
* Impact: At 29.9 feet...Route 100 at Alton closes within a foot of
this height. Also at this level the north and south Wood River
Levee structures are closed.
* Impact: At 29.3 feet...The North Wood River Levee must be closed at
this level.
* Impact: At 29.0 feet...The southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 67 will
flood within a foot of this level. Depending on circumstance,
MoDOT may need to divert southbound traffic to the northbound
lanes.
* Impact: At 28.8 feet...Highway 100 will begin flooding at Clifton
Terrace Street within 2 feet of this height.
* Impact: At 28.5 feet...The South Wood River Levee must be closed at
this level.
