...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE

SUNDAY NIGHT...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central
Illinois and west central Illinois.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...


Isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and again late
tonight. Severe weather is not expected, but some of the storms
will be slow moving and may produce isolated flash flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...


Additional showers and thunderstorms will move in this weekend.
While severe weather is not expected, there is potential for heavy
rain of around 3 inches. The most favored time for heavy rain is
Saturday night through Sunday when a flash flood watch is in
effect.

Additional thunderstorms are possible next week beginning Tuesday
night.

.A slow-moving cold front will interact with an unseasonably moist
airmass to produce heavy rain across west-central Illinois this
weekend. While showers and thunderstorms will develop as early as
Saturday, the primary timeframe for the heaviest rainfall will be
Saturday night through Sunday.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE

SUNDAY NIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for all counties along and west of the
Illinois River.

* From Saturday evening through Sunday night

* Widespread rain with a few embedded thunderstorms will occur
across the Illinois River Valley this weekend...with the
heaviest rain falling Saturday night through Sunday. Storm total
rain amounts of 2.50 to 3 inches are anticipated.

* Excessive rainfall rates could lead to flash flooding of many
low-lying and flood prone areas. In addition, smaller creeks
and streams could potentially spill out of their banks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
