This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast


Thunderstorms are likely across the outlook area tonight.
A few storms may be severe, mainly along and south of
Interstate 80 this evening. The primary threats are large hail
and damaging winds. Heavy rain and flash flooding will also be a
concern, and a flash flood watch remains in effect mainly from the
Interstate 80 corridor on southward.


Both heavy rainfall and severe weather are potential problems
Monday and Tuesday. This could impact area rivers even though the
heaviest rainfall on Monday is currently forecast north of our


Spotter activation will likely be needed this evening south
of Interstate 80. Rainfall reports of 1 inch or more would be

The Illinois River at La Salle, or from Starved Rock Lock and Dam
downstream to confluence with Big Bureau Creek.
* until further notice.
* At 645 PM Saturday the stage was 24.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 24.5 feet
by Monday morning.

...More Heavy Rain and Flash Flooding Possible Tonight...

.Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are expected this evening and
tonight across northeast Missouri, southeast Iowa and west central
Illinois. This may lead to flash flooding as area soils remain
saturated from the numerous rounds of heavy rainfall the region
has experienced over the past week.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of Illinois, Iowa, and northeast Missouri, including
the following areas, in Illinois, Bureau, Hancock, Henderson,
Henry IL, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island, and Warren.
In Iowa, Des Moines, Henry IA, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa,
Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren, and Washington. In northeast
Missouri, Clark and Scotland.

* Through Sunday morning

* Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are possible. This may lead
to flash flooding as soils are saturated in the region.

* Flash flooding is possible especially in urban areas and along
small creeks and streams. In addition, the heavy rain may also
lead to further rises on rivers that are already flooding.


A Flash Flood Watch means that flash flooding is possible.
Monitor forecasts and take action if flash flood warnings are
issued or flash flooding develops.
