This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT


Thunderstorms will likely develop later this afternoon and
overnight producing a threat of heavy rain and flash flooding,
mainly from the I-80 corridor southward where a flash flood watch
is in effect. Additional rainfall could add to problems on area
rivers, especially in the flash flood watch area. Be sure to see
the latest Flood Statements and Flood Warnings for details.

Severe weather cannot be ruled out today, especially with storms
during the afternoon and evening hours. However, the chances for
severe weather are less than what we have seen the past few days.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY


Both heavy rainfall and severe weather are potential problems
Monday and Tuesday. This could impact area rivers even though the
heaviest rainfall on Monday is currently forecast north of our
area.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is not anticipated, though rainfall reports of
1 inch or more would be appreciated.

.Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are expected late this
afternoon and tonight across northeast Missouri, southeast Iowa
and west central Illinois. This may lead to flash flooding as
area soils are saturated from the numerous rounds of heavy
rainfall the region has experienced over the past week.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM CDT THIS

AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of Illinois, Iowa, and northeast Missouri, including
the following areas, in Illinois, Bureau, Hancock, Henderson,
Henry IL, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island, and Warren.
In Iowa, Des Moines, Henry IA, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa,
Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren, and Washington. In northeast
Missouri, Clark and Scotland.

* From 4 PM CDT this afternoon through Sunday morning

* Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are possible. This may lead
to flash flooding as soils are saturated in the region.

* Flash flooding is possible especially in urban areas and along
small creeks and streams. In addition, the heavy rain may also
lead to further rises on rivers that are already flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that flash flooding is possible.
Monitor forecasts and take action if flash flood warnings are
issued or flash flooding develops.

.Rainfall over the past 24 hours had been the driving force for the
river rises that were forecast yesterday. Rainfall totals ended up being
lower than were anticipated, therefore the Rock River forecasts have
been lowered significantly. More rain is expected over the next week
so changes and potentially higher rises in the forecasts are possible.

River forecasts include past precipitation and forecast rainfall for
the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an
alternate route. Turn around, don`t drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Rock River near Joslin.
* Until further notice.
* At 8:45 AM Saturday the stage was 12.9 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, Rise to 14.0 feet Monday morning. The river is forecast
to begin falling on Tuesday, however additional rains this weekend
could cause the high levels to extend to later in the week.
* Impact, At 14.0 feet, Water affects residences in outlying areas
immediately along the river including basements, yards, driveways,
and access roads.

* At 8:30 AM Saturday the stage was 12.4 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, Rise to 13.0 feet Monday evening. The river is forecast
to begin falling on Tuesday, however additional rains this weekend
could cause the high levels to extend to later in the week.
* Impact, At 13.0 feet, Moderate Flood Stage. In Moline, water
affects homes on South Shore Drive and cuts off access to homes
east of the I-74 bridge. Water also affects 49th Avenue south of
the theater. Water affects Vandruff Island.
