.NOW...

Through late evening... Latest Doppler radar imagery indicates
developing thunderstorms south of Lake Okeechobee, moving to the
northeast at 25 mph. As these thunderstorms pass over the lake,
brief funnel clouds or waterspouts are possible which may move
over land once reaching the north and eastern shore in Okeechobee
and Martin counties. Activity is expected to continue to build and
move north, reaching St Lucie, Indian River and southern Brevard
and Osceola counties later this evening. Main hazards in these
thunderstorms will be gusty winds up to 40 mph, funnel clouds,
heavy downpours and lightning strikes.

Farther to the north, a broad area of moisture continues to move
inland from the Gulf Coast, producing scattered showers along and
north of the Interstate 4 corridor, mainly across Lake County.
Showers will increase in intensity and coverage through the evening
and early overnight hours as Tropical Storm Nestor moves closer to
Florida.

In anticipation of potential severe weather overnight and early
tomorrow morning from Tropical Storm Nestor, those in east central
FL should have a reliable method of receiving hazardous weather
alerts and monitor the ongoing situation.
