This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


Patchy fog is being seen across portions of southwest Arkansas
this morning. Fog will burn off during the morning hours giving
way to hot and humid conditions. Heat index values will exceed 105
through the day today.

Thunderstorms will drop south into northern Arkansas during the
afternoon hours. Some of these thunderstorms that develop could be
strong to severe with the main threats being large hail and
damaging winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday Through Tuesday


Heat index values will warm into the mid 90s to just over 100 nearly
every day into the weekend. Some areas may see heat index values
warm above 105 later in the week.

Chances for thunderstorms return to the forecast by early next
week. For now...the threat for seeing hazardous weather looks low
this far out in time.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM CDT THIS

EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a Heat
Advisory, which is in effect from noon today to 8 PM CDT this
evening.

* EVENT...Heat index values will rise into the 105-110 range
Wednesday afternoon and evening.

* AREAS AFFECTED...Much of northern and central Arkansas.

* IMPACTS...High heat stress conditions will be in place across
the advisory area during the afternoon and evening hours on
Wednesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors.

Take extra precautions...if you work or spend time outside. When
possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
