This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southeast
Minnesota...northeast Iowa and southwest into central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight


Dangerous heat develops today with maximum heat indices peaking
around 105, highest south of Interstate 94. Little relief is
expected tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday


Dangerous heat continues through Sunday with maximum heat indices
reaching 100 to 105.

An active weather pattern develops for Monday and beyond with
rounds of showers and storms throughout much of the work week.
Some storms Monday afternoon and evening could be strong to
severe. It is too early to discern severe potential for later in
the week, but repeated heavy rainfall could lead to areas of
flooding.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 9 PM CDT

SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values of 100 to around 105 expected.

* WHERE...North central and northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and
central, north central, southwest, and west central Wisconsin.

* WHEN...From noon today to 9 PM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Little relief from the heat and humidity is
expected tonight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioning if possible, and
check on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Stay out of the sun as much as
possible. Wear lightweight, loose fitting clothing.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
