...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT SUNDAY...


* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values 105 to
110 expected. Low temperatures tonight will remain mostly in the
lower 80s, providing little relief from the heat.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central,
southeast, and west central Minnesota and northwest and west
central Wisconsin.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central and
southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.


Extreme heat is expected through tonight. Heat indices of 105 to
112 degrees are likely into the evening. In addition, low
temperatures tonight will mostly be in the lower 80s, providing
little relief from the heat.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.


Extreme heat is expected to continue Sunday. Heat indices of 105
to 110 degrees are likely in the afternoon.

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are likely starting Sunday night
and continuing through most of next week, with the potential for
heavy rain and flooding where thunderstorms train over the same
areas. The threat is highest from southern Minnesota into western
Wisconsin. Severe thunderstorms are possible Sunday night,
particularly in western Minnesota.
