Areas of black ice are possible this morning near the Virginia
border.
Additionally, southwesterly winds will gust late this morning and
into the afternoon between 30 and 40 mph, locally up to 45 mph over
the Piedmont. Residents should secure loose outside items, including
holiday decorations.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Refreezing of diminishing snow cover over the far northeast
Piedmont and northern Coastal Plain may lead to the development of
patches of black ice tonight and Wednesday morning.
Motorists in these areas are encouraged to slow down and be alert
for patchy slick spots.
