This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight


Severe storms remain possible from late this afternoon into
tonight. Damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes are
the potential hazards.

Non thunderstorm winds may gust 30 to 40 mph at times, especially
across southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday


Another chance of strong to severe storms exists from mid morning
to mid afternoon Wednesday, especially across portions of
southwest Indiana and the Pennyrile region of western Kentucky.
Large hail is the primary hazard, but damaging winds may occur as
well.

Non thunderstorm winds may gust 30 to 40 mph at times Wednesday.

A final risk of severe weather is poised for Thursday into
Thursday night, particularly during the afternoon and evening.
Damaging winds and large hail will be the main hazards.

The chance for cooler temperatures in the 30s, and possibly a
light frost, is best in the highlands of southeast Missouri and
southern Illinois both Saturday and Sunday nights.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in

Illinois...Indiana...

Wabash River at Vincennes.

Wabash River at Mount Carmel.

Wabash River at Riverton.

Wabash River at Clinton.

Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.

Wabash River at Terre Haute.

Wabash River at Covington.

Wabash River at Montezuma.

Wabash River at Lafayette.

.Main stem rivers in central and southern Indiana continue to flood
as a result of rainfall of 2 to 4 plus inches that fell last week.
All of the central Indiana portion of the Wabash river remains in
flood. Flooding along the White River remains from Spencer to points
downstream. Along the East Fork White River, flooding remains near
Rivervale.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday, April 24.

* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Flood waters begin to affect residents of
East Mt. Carmel, Indiana. Fifth Street that parallels river
closes. Twin restaurant along the river also closes. Several
local river roads flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:00 AM EDT Tuesday /10:00 AM CDT Tuesday/ the stage was
21.1 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:00 AM EDT Tuesday /10:00 AM CDT Tuesday/ was
21.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.2
feet Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage
Wednesday, April 24.
- Flood stage is 19.0 feet.

- At 8:30 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 16.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.2
feet early Monday morning. It will then fall below flood
stage Thursday, April 25.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
