This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight


The threat of storms will increase to a peak this evening, with
all severe hazards in play. The greatest risk is for damaging
winds, with large hail and tornadoes also posing potential risks.
Frequent deadly lightning and locally heavy rains capable of
sporadic flooding are also potential hazards.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday


Lows in the upper 30s are possible this weekend, with Sunday night
perhaps the best chance for frost to develop as skies clear and
winds diminish then. These cooler temperatures and thus the
chance of frost appears greatest along and north of the Ohio
River.

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in

Illinois...Indiana...

Wabash River from Lafayette downstream to Mount Carmel.

.Following the heavy rain last week, the Wabash River from Lafayette
southward remains in flood, and flooding will last as long as into
the middle of next week along portions of the Wabash.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

* IMPACTS...At 22.9 feet, Water begins to flow over River Road just
north of Fifth Street in the Mount Carmel area.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:00 AM EDT Thursday /10:00 AM CDT Thursday/ the stage
was 21.4 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:00 AM EDT Thursday /10:00 AM CDT Thursday/ was
21.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.5
feet Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage late
Wednesday evening.

feet early Monday morning. It will then fall below flood
stage Thursday, April 25.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
