LAUNCH CODE AVIATION FORECAST

Aviation Weather Report and Forecast

More places. More weather detail. A clearer view of the hours ahead.

Welcome to the new Launch Code! Explore aviation weather forecasts for thousands of airports and forecast locations, with easy-to-read graphics built around the conditions that matter to pilots.

Find your aviation forecast

Select a state or region, then choose a city. Or go straight to a forecast with its station identifier.

Your weather, hour by hour

Follow wind speed and gusts, wind direction, temperature, cloud ceilings, visibility and precipitation in one graphical aviation forecast. Compare the next 24 hours or look farther ahead with the extended forecast.

Switch between mph and knots, Fahrenheit and Celsius, or local time and UTC. Highlight a forecast column, customize your weather rows, and compare conditions with your own flying limits.

7,522U.S. forecast locations
1,138Canadian forecast locations
9,578Total forecast locations

A bigger world of aviation weather

Launch Code now includes more than 5,300 U.S. locations absent from the old station lists, bringing coverage to nearly three times its former size across the 50 states and District of Columbia. Canada joins the expanded selection with more than 1,100 forecast locations. Explore additional locations in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and the Pacific.

Our 9,578-location catalog includes U.S., Canadian, other international and offshore locations. Forecast products and weather details vary by location; coverage does not extend to every city worldwide.

NBM forecasts: hourly NBH and extended NBS guidance

The National Weather Service National Blend of Models (NBM) brings together weather guidance from multiple models. Launch Code turns that guidance into a forecast you can explore at a glance. The 24 Hour Forecast uses hourly NBH guidance where available; the Extended Forecast uses NBS guidance for a longer outlook at three-hour intervals.

Review cloud ceilings, IFR ceiling and visibility probabilities, flight category, precipitation chances, mixing height and transport winds alongside familiar temperature and surface-wind forecasts. Check each row’s units and time period; unavailable values remain marked N/A.

Current conditions and nearby weather alerts

Compare nearby METAR observations in the current-conditions tabs, including report age, wind, visibility and cloud layers. Watches, warnings, advisories and statements appear below the corresponding station’s conditions when available. Open an alert for its affected areas and full details.

Make Launch Code your own

Choose light or dark mode, put your favorite forecast rows first, and set personal flying limits. Create a free account to keep your preferences across devices. Whether you are checking your home airport or exploring somewhere new, start with a location above and make the forecast work for you.

Pilot responsibility & use of this forecast

Do not use this page as your only source for a flight decision. Launch Code provides supplemental, automated weather guidance. It is not a substitute for a complete preflight weather briefing, current observations, applicable aviation forecasts and advisories, or your assessment of actual conditions at the launch site and along your intended route.

You are responsible for deciding whether to launch, continue, divert, or land. Fly only within your training, experience, personal minimums, aircraft limitations, and applicable operating rules and qualifications. Verify the forecast location, issue time, and valid times. Recheck conditions before departure and throughout the flight; delay or cancel when conditions are uncertain or unsuitable.

Forecasts may be incomplete, delayed, incorrect, or different from the weather you encounter. Conditions can change rapidly. Missing data or a hazard not shown on this page does not mean that the hazard is absent. Air Sports Net does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or suitability of this guidance for any flight.

A favorable symbol, color, or phrase is not a recommendation or authorization to fly. Personal-limit results compare only the available forecast values against the checks you enable. They do not evaluate every risk. Phrases such as “Go Fly” are optional display captions, not operational advice.

Obtain a preflight briefing and consult additional aviation weather sources. In the United States, visit Flight Service or call 1-800-WX-BRIEF. Use of this forecast is at your own risk and is subject to the Air Sports Net Terms of Use.
