This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern New York, central
Vermont, northeast Vermont, northwest Vermont and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.


Areas of light drizzle with pockets of freezing drizzle will develop
late this afternoon into the evening hours. The greatest potential
for a light glaze resulting in areas of slick travel during the
evenings commute will be across the deeper valleys in central and
eastern Vermont and portions of the eastern Adirondacks in northern
New York. The threat for icing should end by early Saturday morning.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.


Widespread moderate rainfall is anticipated this weekend, especially
across central and southern Vermont and portions of northern New
York. This rainfall will result in sharp mainly in bank rises on
local streams and rivers, with the potential for some minor low lying
flooding. The Otter Creek at Center Rutland may approach minor flood
stage by Saturday night, with action stage possible on the Mad and
Ausable Rivers.

Gusty westerly winds with isolated power outages are possible on
Sunday across central and eastern Vermont, including portions of the
Northeast Kingdom and downslope regions of the eastern Adirondacks in
New York. A wind advisory maybe needed for portions of the area on
Sunday for potential wind gusts in the 45 to 50 mph.

...Areas of Freezing Drizzle and Slick Travel Possible This Evening...

Areas of drizzle with pockets of freezing drizzle will develop
across parts of southern and eastern Vermont by late this
afternoon and expand into portions of northern Vermont and New
York by early evening. This will lead to the formation of a light
glaze, especially across the deeper mountain valleys of Vermont
and northern New York. Use caution if traveling across these
areas early this evening, as conditions can change quickly when
encountering these pockets of freezing drizzle. The threat for
icing and slick travel should end by early Saturday morning.
