This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast New Mexico,
southwest Texas and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.


There is a low risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon, mainly
over the northern Permian Basin. Any severe storms that do develop
will be accompanied by large hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.


A Red Flag Warning is in effect from Thursday morning through
Thursday evening for Southeast New Mexico and most of West Texas.

A High Wind Warning is in effect Thursday afternoon and evening for
Eddy County and portions of Culberson County.

A Wind Advisory is in effect Thursday afternoon and evening for
Lea County and portions of Culberson County.

There is a medium risk of severe thunderstorms late Thursday
afternoon and evening, mainly over the Western Low Rolling Plains.
Any severe storms that do develop will be accompanied by large hail
and/or damaging winds and/or an isolated tornado.

Critical fire weather conditions are possible Friday through Sunday,
mainly west of the Pecos.

High winds are possible Friday though Sunday afternoon, mainly in
the Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains.

* AFFECTED AREA...Gaines, Andrews, Loving, Winkler, Ward,
Sacramento Foothills and Guadalupe Mountains, Chaves Plains,
Eddy Plains, Lea, Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains, Van Horn
and Highway 54 Corridor, Eastern Culberson County, Reeves
County Plains, Chinati Mountains, Marfa Plateau, Davis
Mountains, Davis Mountains Foothills, Central Brewster County,
Chisos Basin, Presidio Valley and Lower Brewster County.

* TIMING...From Thursday morning through Thursday evening.

* WINDS...Southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 6 percent.

* RFTI...7 or extremely critical.

* IMPACTS...Avoid the use of open flames or any activities that
may generate sparks, such as outdoor burning or welding.
Extinguish cigarettes in vehicles. Accidental ignitions will
have the potential to grow into dangerous wind-driven
wildfires.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong
winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will increase
potential for fire growth.
