THURSDAY EVENING FOR STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR
THE CENTRAL TO WESTERN OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE AND WESTERN TEXAS
PANHANDLE...

The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for strong winds and low relative humidity, which
is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.

* Affected Area...In Oklahoma...Cimarron and Texas. In Texas...
Dallam...Sherman...Hartley...Moore...Oldham...Potter...Deaf
Smith and Randall.

* 20 Foot Winds...out of the southwest around 25 to 35 mph.

* Relative Humidity...as low as 9 percent.

* Red Flag Threat Index...6 to 8.

* Timing...Noon on Thursday to 9 PM CDT on Thursday.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Texas and Oklahoma
Panhandles.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.


Rain showers and thunderstorms through today with a low chance of
becoming strong to severe. The main threat will be from large hail
IF a storm becomes severe.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.


Severe storms may occur on Thursday, mainly along and east of an
Amarillo to Guymon dryline. Very large hail, damaging winds, and
tornados may occur in the severe storms. Even strong tornados of
EF two or greater may be possible in the eastern panhandles with
the strongest storms.

Across the western Panhandles, elevated to critical fire weather
conditions are possible Thursday due to gusty winds and low relative
humidity values.

Elevated to critical fire weather conditions will continue to be
possible Friday through this upcoming weekend.

Additional thunderstorms are possible on Saturday. Some of these
storms could become strong to severe.

Spotter activation will likely be needed on Thursday.
