The Flood Warning continues for
The Missouri River at Atchison.
* from this evening to Friday evening.
* At 6:02 AM Sunday the stage was 21.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
rise to near 23.3 feet by Tuesday morning. The river will fall
below flood stage by Thursday evening.
* At 22.0 feet...Low-lying areas on the Missouri side of the river
begin to flood.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH

TUESDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has
issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Kansas and Missouri,
including the following areas, in Kansas, Atchison KS,
Doniphan, Johnson KS, Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami, and
Wyandotte. In Missouri, Andrew, Atchison MO, Buchanan,
Caldwell, Carroll, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, De Kalb,
Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Jackson, Lafayette,
Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Platte, Putnam, Ray, Sullivan,
and Worth.

* From Monday evening through Tuesday evening

* Several rounds of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are expected
Monday evening through Tuesday afternoon. Total rainfall amounts
of one to three inches will be possible during this period. This
rainfall will fall on already saturated soils, increasing the
potential for flash flooding.

* Low-lying and flood-prone areas will be most susceptible to the
dangers of flash flooding. Areas near rivers, creeks, and
streams will likely become flooded during and immediately after
heavy rainfall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
