...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 9 PM CDT

TUESDAY...

* TEMPERATURE...Hot and humid conditions are expected Tuesday
afternoon, resulting in heat index values ranging from 105 to
110 degrees.

* IMPACTS...The combination of hot temperatures and high
humidity will result in dangerous conditions where
heat-related illnesses are possible. The very young, the
elderly, and those without access to air conditioning will be
especially vulnerable.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot weather is expected,
during which heat illnesses are possible. Limit your outdoor
activities during this time, stay in an air-conditioned building,
and check up on relatives and neighbors. While outside, drink
plenty of water, wear light and loose fitting clothing, and
reduce strenuous activities.

This hazardous weather outlook is for east central...north
central and northeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.


A Heat Advisory is in effect for locations generally along and
south of I-70 for this afternoon as heat index values are expected
to range from 105 to 110 degrees.

Additionally, overnight storms from Nebraska may work
their way into extreme northeastern portions of Kansas very late
into Tuesday morning. The main hazard with the strongest storms
will likely be a strong wind threat.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.


A Heat Advisory is in effect for the entire outlook area Tuesday
afternoon with heat index values ranging from around 105 to 110
degrees.

The severe weather threat into Wednesday appears uncertain at this
time, however, is not zero.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
