Wabash River at Vincennes, Clinton, Terre Haute, Covington, and
Montezuma.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...

Illinois...

Wabash River at Riverton, Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site,
Mount Carmel, and Lafayette.

.Main stem rivers in central and southern Indiana continue to flood
as a result of rainfall of 2 to 4 plus inches that fell last week.
Flooding on creeks and streams has ended, and the water levels have
returned to about normal.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Lafayette.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 14.9 feet, Lowland flooding develops. High water
approaches river cabins near Davis Prairie Road. Water covers
some spots on low county roads. The lower end of Tapawingo Park in
West Lafayette begins to flood, along with the Heritage Trail.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM EDT Monday the stage was 14.8 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:30 PM EDT Monday was 16.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall and remain below
flood stage.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

* WHEN...Until Tuesday, April 23.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Park in southern Montezuma begins to
flood. Higher bottomlands begin to flood. Water backs up most
local tributaries. River water is at the top of some private
levees. Lowest county roads begin to flood. Parke CR 75 W begins
to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:45 PM EDT Monday the stage was 20.7 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:45 PM EDT Monday was 20.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Monday, April 22 and continue falling and remain below flood
stage.

River Road south of Covington flooded. Sandhill Road at Mud Run
just northeast of Covington begins to flood. Extensive lowland
flooding in progress. Higher bottomlands flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:45 PM EDT Monday the stage was 21.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:45 PM EDT Monday was 21.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.5
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage Sunday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
