...A Short Period of Strong Gusty Winds Will Occur This Evening...

In the wake of a strong cold front, northwest winds will increase
to around 25 mph with gusts approaching 40 mph. This period of
strong winds will only last for an hour or two before winds settle
down to 10 to 20 mph.

The area of strong winds has been moving south into the Interstate
64 region early this evening. Places along and north of a line
from Carbondale Illinos to Owensboro Kentucky will likely
experience this surge of strong winds between 7 pm and 10 pm.

Loose outdoor objects such as trash cans will be blown around.
High profile vehicles will be difficult to handle.
