This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

The Storm Prediction Center has a slight risk for severe
thunderstorms along Highway 20 in northeast Iowa and northwest
Illinois for later this afternoon and evening. There is a marginal
risk as far south as the Interstate 80 corridor.

A line of severe thunderstorms will move across southern Minnesota
this morning and then may dive southeast into northeast Iowa and
northwest Illinois later this afternoon. If this occurs then
damaging winds to 70 mph are possible. Thunderstorms may continue
into tonight. However, some models suggest the storms may stay to
the north across Minnesota and Wisconsin. There is low confidence
in this scenario at this time so interests need to monitor
convective trends.

Afternoon and early evening heat index values will soar into the
mid 90s, possibly upper 90s in a few spots.

Area rivers are experiencing flooding. Please see the
latest Flood Statements and Flood Warnings for details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

Heat indices are expected to be in the mid to upper 90s Friday
through Monday. Saturday and Sunday look to be the hottest days
with heat indices nearing 100 degrees in some locations.

Thunderstorms will be possible Friday and Friday night across
northeast Iowa and northwest Illinois. At this time, severe
thunderstorms are not anticipated, but small hail, strong winds,
and heavy rain is possible with any thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms will be possible daily next week beginning Monday
afternoon. However, confidence is low on timing and areal extent
of thunderstorms and if any storms will have the potential to
reach severe levels.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Activation of spotters and amateur radio networks may be needed
this afternoon and evening.
